At Netherfield and Hunsford Parsonage

Hello, Ladies!

I am about to go iron my Elizabeth Bennet reproduction costume for Pemberly tomorrow, but I wanted to share with you a few pictures from what I did yesterday!  I have hundreds of photos from today and yesterday which I will share once I get home, but for now I will just let you get an idea of what my group has been doing while “scampering about the countryside”!  (That is a quote from Miss Bingley, in case you don’t have Pride & Prejudice memorized.) 🙂

“My dear!  Mr. Bennet!  Netherfield Park is let at last!” – Mrs. Bennet

Here I am looking into the Netherfield grounds. It was a magnificent view!

After a wonderful ramble outside Netherfield, we headed to the location used in the 1995 version of Pride & Prejudice as Mr. Collins’ and Charlotte’s home – Hunsford Parsonage!  It has been preserved in the same condition as BBC left it after filming, so besides the furniture being different, all wall colors and wall paper look identical to how the film team decorated it.

We were served a dainty spread of afternoon tea inside the very dining room that was used as such in the film!

And here I am sitting in the very room where Mr. Darcy initially proposed to Elizabeth!

I will share more pictures just as soon as I can!  Today I visited the interior of Rosings Park and Pemberly while wearing a Georgiana Darcy dress in the very place where the scene was shot, and I’m so looking forward to posting those photographs here!

I’ll write again soon!

Happy costuming,

Katrina
