I am pleased to announce the official release of the newest Edelweiss Patterns design – “Liesl’s Dancing Dress in Little Girls’ Sizes”! This pattern comes with all sizes 3-12 in one envelope, and has lots of notes on fitting your dress.
You don't have to be sixteen going on seventeen to wear this classic Sound of Music costume!
From a little girl’s earliest memories, she has usually dreamed of dancing about in a gazebo while dressed just like Liesl. And who can blame her? Liesl von Trapp was the epitome of grace and femininity, especially with that gorgeously beautiful chiffon dress she wore.
This Sound of Music dress design is now available in children's and adult's sizes.
After Edelweiss Patterns released the sewing pattern for Liesl’s Dress in adult sizes back in 2010, I’ve had a multitude of requests to reproduce the design in children’s sizes. And since little girls can think of excuses to dress up much more frequently than grown women can, it only made sense to create a corresponding pattern for children!
Coming soon to a gazebo near you...
The possibilities of occasions to make a Liesl dress for are really endless. With these two designs you can sew matching mother-daughter or big sister-little sister Liesl dresses, a little girl’s costume for a Sound of Music
production or birthday party, make a vintage styled Easter dress, or even sew bridesmaid/flower girl dresses for a “Sound of Music” themed wedding.
There's nothing cuter than a little girl twirling around in a pink dress!
Edelweiss Patterns Giveaway
I hope you enjoy making your little girl her own Liesl dress as much as I’ve enjoyed designing it, and if you’d like the chance to win a copy of this new pattern you can pop over to the We Sew Retro site where they’re giving away the Edelweiss Pattern of your choice this week!
So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye!
